The measures within energy optimization and environment include best practice solutions in heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting:

• Insulation with 3-layer windows and insulated window frames reduces air leaks and cold bridges. Airtight modules provide significantly lower energy requirements than today's standard, and approach “passive house” level. 


• Renewable heating and cooling is created with reversible heat pump / chiller with natural refrigerants. In the ocean, the ocean utilizes the ocean's natural energy and delivers heating and cooling to the building through centralized water-borne underfloor heating and HVAC. The energy surplus, which is student housing and commercial buildings, has a strength. High utilization of sea heat and reuse of heat from wastewater.


• Renewable electricity is created by solar panels both on the roof (more than 2000m2) and integrated into the balcony railing (more than 700m2 on the most efficient location) covering/cladding parts of the building's needs with self-produced renewable electricity.


• Compact building body is created through a square building that provides low façade and roof area in relation to the floor area. Passive solar heat is utilized and an atrium in the middle provides a lot of daylight.


• Demand management reduces the use of energy for lighting, heating, ventilation and PCs that are not in use. Detectors detect presence and air quality. In addition, internal lighting is controlled according to daylight access. Control of power management for the Battery and/or hydrogen storage capacity to utilize the power demand.


• Energy-efficient LED lighting is equipped with automatic motion detection and optimal daylight control.


• Adibatic cooling and external solar shading reduce the power requirement for cooling by 40 percent and energy demand by 30 percent.


• Efficient user equipment and reduced standby energy are controlled together with lights as needed.

This building will be a flagship for green buildings and we will deliver a building that is at least as environmentally friendly and energy smart as the Sweco building with BREEAM certification 'Excellent'.
